The GWO Boat Transfer training is designed for offshore workers who are required to transfer between vessels, platforms, or other marine structures as part of their work. Safe transfer operations demand situational awareness, physical preparedness, and knowledge of the correct procedures — all of which are developed throughout this course.
During the half-day programme, participants practise the correct techniques for boarding and disembarking under realistic conditions. The training also covers how to respond effectively when a colleague goes overboard, including the use of GMDSS communication equipment, search and rescue coordination, and first aid for casualties retrieved from the water. Evacuation procedures are also addressed so participants are ready to act in a range of emergency scenarios.
Upon successful completion, participants receive an ECMT certificate of participation. Please note that this is not a GWO-certified qualification but an ECMT certificate of participation. The Boat Transfer training can be taken as a standalone course or combined with GWO Sea Survival for a more comprehensive offshore safety foundation.
