The training ensures that participants maintain the competencies needed to handle heavy equipment and loads safely during daily operations at wind energy sites.
The course follows a blended learning format: you complete the theoretical component online at your own pace before attending a focused, hands-on session at the training facility. During the practical session, you will work through lifting exercises, apply risk-reducing techniques, and engage with realistic case studies drawn from the wind energy sector. The emphasis is on applying knowledge under conditions that reflect the physical demands of real on-site work.
Upon successful completion, your GWO Manual Handling certificate is renewed for a further two years, keeping you fully compliant with Global Wind Organisation standards and your employer’s certification requirements.

This course is for wind turbine technicians and other wind energy workers who currently hold a valid GWO Manual Handling certificate and need to renew it before it expires. Participants must be able to demonstrate a valid existing certificate to enrol.
You must hold a valid GWO Manual Handling certificate to participate in this refresher course. The full GWO Manual Handling training must have been completed previously. This course is not a substitute for the initial certification.
The GWO Manual Handling certificate obtained through this refresher is valid for two years from the date of issue. To remain certified after that period, you will need to complete another refresher or retake the full training.
